Fall Season

Fall is the best time on the farm! Fairfield Farms has a reputation for being a wonderful place to visit in the Fall. We provide a fun Fall farm experience right in Essex County, only minutes from major cities like Paterson, Newark, and New York City.

Our fall season begins the third weekend of September with all attractions open, Jersey Fresh produce, and great supplies of fall decorative items. Weekday hayrides for the public begin at 1:00 PM and run until 6:00 PM. Weekend hayrides begin at 9:30 AM and run until 6:00 PM.

Fairfield Farms offers a large selection of snacks and fresh Jersey apples. Drinks include: cider, soda, and bottled water, for the warmer days, with coffee and hot mulled cider added to the list on the cooler ones.

      ** New Event At Fairfield Farms - "Spooky Trail" **

Come experience our new hayride on woodland trails surrounding our farm. "Spooky Trail" hayride will take you on a journey through haunted woods where you will meet the Bones family, some still with us, others...not so fortunate.  Parental discretion advised for children under 10.

"Spooky Trail" hayrides will only be offered on weekends. Tickets for daytime hayrides on Saturdays and Sundays may be purchased at the farm or can be purchased in advanced via the daytime activities link below:

Daytime / GA Ticket Sales:             

Tickets for the nighttime hayrides must be purchased in advance via our nighttime activities link below. 

Nighttime Hayride Ticket Sales:     

This hayride event will be offered starting on Saturday,  September 17 and  Sunday, September 18, then will continue to run every Fri., Sat. and Sun. evenings for the months of September and October. Hayrides start at 6:30 and run every half hour.  Last hayride will leave at 8:30. (See Ticket Spice for available time slots and to purchase your tickets.)

Price for daytime hayrides is $10.00.  Price for evening hayrides, which will have will have added special effects, will be $12.00. This event is not included in the general admission ticket.  

Refreshment stand will be open serving apple cider doughnuts, and soda, cider, hot coffee and hot chocolate during the day and evening starting Sat. September 17th.

Pumpkin Picking Season: Fun for Parties, Schools, and Groups!

During the week we offer field trips to pre-schoolers and kindergartners.

Limited lunchroom services offered.  First come, first serve.
